Shopping this week
I did great this week since the kids were in school!! I went to Walgreens on Tuesday and bought a bunch'o'stuff on sale. I spent 29.00 and had savings on 29.00 so I guess if I hadn't worked the sale, I would have spent 54!! I was also able to go to Jewel on Wednesday with just the baby and stocked up on ground beef $1.49/lb with 20.00 purchase and the beef counted toward the purchase! So I bought 9lbs....and I also got more yogos which came with a 1.00 q off of juicyjuice-the baby's new addiction. I am not sure I am pleased with the sugar content so I am keeping him to one per day. I also got some cheese bricks on clearance, pringles on clearance, and Emme's favorite cheetos on clearance. All in all I spent 34.00 and saved 17.00 with specials and q's. :)
On Friday I went to Aldi and stocked up. I haven't spent more than a few dollars here and there since July 5th. I spent 158.00 and feel like I walked out with one of everything in the store. I did not buy any meat other than brats and italian sausage. I did get lots of things for lunch, sides for dinners, and canned goods galore! The only bummer was I had to carry it all in myself since the kids were at school.....it may be the only time I miss them since they usually carry everything in while I put it all away.
I will be going to CVS next week since my ECB's will expire on the 5th. I can't wait for the ad to see what I can get for close to free since I am also going to get the 25.00 gift card by transferring a prescription there. Well enjoy the holiday weekend!

Subj: Be my bra (not a joke)
From a nurse:
I'll never forget the look in my patients' eyes when I had to tell them they had to go home with the drains, new exercises and no breast. I remember begging the Doctors to keep these women in the hospital longer, only to hear that they would, but their hands were tied by the insurance companies. So there I sat with my patients, giving them the instructions they needed to take care of themselves, knowing full well they didn't grasp half of what I was saying, because the glazed, hopeless, frightened look spoke louder than the quiet 'Thank You' they muttered. A mastectomy is when a woman's breast is removed in order to remove cancerous breast cells/tissue. If you know anyone who has had a Mastectomy, you may know that there is a lot of discomfort and pain afterwards. Insurance companies are trying to make mastectomies an outpatient procedure. Let's give women the chance to recover properly in the hospital for 2 days after surgery. It takes 2 seconds to do this and is very important. Please take the time and do it! Please send this link to everyone in your address book so they can come and sign. If there was ever a time when our voices and choices should be heard, this is one of those times.
If you're interested in this issue, I think you will take the 30 seconds to vote on this issue and send it on to others you know who will do the same. There's a bill called the Breast Cancer Patient Protection Act which will require insurance companies to cover a minimum 48-hour hospital stay for patients undergoing a mastectomy. It's about eliminating the 'drive-through' Mastectomy where women are forced to go home just a few hours after surgery, against the wishes of their doctor, still groggy from anesthesia and sometimes with drainage tubes still attached.
Lifetime Television has put this bill on their Web page with a petition drive to show support. Last year over half the House signed on. PLEASE!! Sign the petition by clicking on the web site below. You need not give more than your name, state, and zip code.

PLEASE let all your friends and family know about this, and on behalf of all women, THANKS

CVS'ing today
So for the first time in forever we were ready to go to church early! So of course I said - let's run to CVS and then get some donuts before church. Off we went. Here is the transaction I did today:
3 Lorel shampoo's 3/10
2 shick razors 7.99 each
1 Fruitrese Mouse 4.29
1 4 dbl roll CVS t.p 3.29
1 Tribune paper 1.99
Total: 43.
used: 3/15 CVS, 5.00 EBC's, 1.00 q for Fruitrese, 1.00 Lorel, 1.00 Lores, 1 free Lorel, 1 Free Razor
Total after q's was 13.07 and I got 5 ECB's The only strange thing I noticed was that for the 2 free items, the cashier took off the before sale price so I got 9.50 for the razor and 5.00 for the shampoo. I do think the t.p was expensive, but I made a error in my last purchase and only bought single ply.....so I had to have some 2 ply around here.
so we saved 30.00 in 20 minutes, got donuts and still made it to church on time.

A little savings here and there
Since my last post, I have picked up a few things with deep discounts. Yesterday was the best score. I went to Jewel and got 6 boxes of cereal for $8.00. Here's how I did it: General Milles select cereal were 5/$10. I had a 1.50 off from Jewel on 3, .55 on Trix, .75 on Coco combos, 1.00 off of Cheerios, and another .50 off any general mills cereal which brought the total down to 5.70. Then I added a Just Bunces which I had a $1.00 off coupon so the box was only $1 on sale after q. So my total with tax was 7.98.......Yay me since we eat cereal like fiends around here. My other big deal at Jewel was Pringles. I hardly ever buy them because one kid can eat the whole can....well they had some on clearance for .69 each. I had 4 .30 off q's so we bought 6 cans of them for 2.94. I couldn't pass it up. I also did another hot dog and bun transaction earlier in the week so for lunch yesterday we had hot dogs and pringles with my super cheap powerade. I felt so good serving them the junk they like but cheaply which I like!
I also went to CVS last week and got razors (I know-more!) and shaving cream, and something else that I can't remeber. I spent 11.00 and got another 5/15 q and 3 ECB's plus a free cotton swab q so not all was wasted. I was planning on taking a week off from CVS, but I have to roll over my ECB's so I am just getting pert shampoo, toothbrushes, and diaper wipes. I am going there tomorrow - by myself!
I'll keep you updated on any other good deals I find!
